During your online searching, you may have come across a ThinkPad Laptop, and the Lenovo option is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after laptops of 2022.

Of course, like most laptops that are newer, many people have their takes on the device, but it seems that overall, most people can agree that this is a great little laptop to invest in, should you want an upgrade from your current model.

So, in this article, you will be guided through the pros and cons of this laptop, to help you decide whether it is worth investing in.

Pros of the ThinkPad

Here are some of the notable pros of the Thinkpad X1 Carbon from Lenovo.

Design

The design of the laptop is sound, with flex resistance built into the case shape. Depending on the exact specs of the Lenovo laptop, the casing will either be made of plastic or aluminum, both of which are hardy in this type of laptop. The device is light too, with a weight of 1.64 kg.

Input Devices

The keyboard is standard, but the laptop has a range of input devices and ports down the side, to accommodate USBs and other options.

It’s worth noting that with the laptop, there is a higher degree of spill resistance, so should you spill your coffee on the keyboard, there is less space for it to be absorbed into the machine itself. So, less overall damage all around.

Upgradeable

Of course, all laptops that are new in 2022 are graded on the amount of upgrading that they can take, and the Lenovo model is no different.

There is quite a bit of room to expand the RAM and storage of this machine, specifically, 8GB of solderable RAM space. So, for the price of the machine, you can add a fair amount of storage to it and won’t have to worry about it breaking down. Just be certain that you know what you are doing. If you aren’t sure and have concerns that you may inadvertently damage the laptop when upgrading it, make sure you hire a professional to help when installing RAM.

Long Battery

Newer laptops offer a much-extended battery life, and this laptop does take the medal here.

It is estimated that, even with multiple programs running, the laptop can hold a charge for nearly 14 hours. It’s worth noting that, like most laptops, if you operate heavier programs, then the battery life will be shortened.

Cons of the ThinkPad

There are not too many downsides to the ThinkPad, and even then, they are not disastrous.

Not Exactly a Budget Laptop

Firstly, while many people would associate Lenovo with being something of a budget brand, this laptop is a bit on the pricy side. However, considering all that is included, the price is not unreasonable.

No SD Card Reader

You can, of course, attach an SD card reader to the USB ports if you want to. However, for a machine designed in 2022 to have no SD card reader is a bit odd. As mentioned though, it’s easily rectified.
